Holy Orders
The Sacrament of Holy Orders
The Sacrament of Holy Orders is the sacrament through which men are ordained to serve the Church as bishops, priests, or deacons. Priests are ordained to preach the Gospel, celebrate the Sacraments, and shepherd God's people in the person of Christ, while deacons are ordained to ministries of charity, proclaiming the Gospel, preaching, and assisting in the Church's liturgical and pastoral life.
